PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reserving furnace of a molten metal for low pressure casting and a method for supplying molten metal for the same, wherein the size of the furnace and the loss of heat energy can be reduced, and the quality of cast products can be stabilized. SOLUTION: The molten metal reserving furnace 1 for low pressure casting is configured so as to have a molten metal reserving chamber 10 and a pressurizing chamber 20 which are arranged in parallel with each other and are communicated with each other via a molten metal flowing port 30 capable of being opened and closed, and further so as to supply the molten metal existing inside the molten metal reserving chamber 10 into the cavity 27 of a metal mold 26 in the closed state of the molten metal flowing port 30 by pressurizing the molten metal existing in the pressurizing chamber 20 in the closed state of the molten metal flowing port 30 after supplying the molten metal into the pressurizing chamber 20 in the opened state of the molten metal flowing port 30. In this case, a pressurizing gas supply port 15 is provided in the molten metal reserving chamber 10 so as to apply a pre-load to the molten metal reserving chamber 10 in the closed state of the molten metal flowing port 30 in order to prevent the reversed flow of the molten metal flowing from the molten metal reserving chamber 10 to the pressurizing chamber 20 in the opened state of the molten metal flowing port 30 before the supply of the molten metal, and further so as to introduce the pressurizing gas for keeping the pressurized state of the molten metal reserving chamber 10 even when the molten metal is supplied in the opened state of the molten metal flowing port 30.
