PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having excellent barrier properties, transparency, stretchability, flexibility and flexing resistance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C) involves reacting an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) with a monovalent epoxy compound (B) having a molecular weight of 500 or less.
