<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of periodic spots, stripes, etc. in an image to enhance an image grade. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus has an image carrier, a charging member, an exposing device, a development unit, an outer casing 29 which holds the image carrier, the charging member and the development unit and having an opening 30 for exposure by the exposing device, a drive part which rotates the image carrier in the predetermined direction when forming the image and a damming member arranged by being contacted with the image carrier on the downstream of the charging member in the rotating direction of the image carrier and on the upstream of the opening 30. In this case, since the damming member is arranged by being contacted with the image carrier on the downstream of the charging member in the rotating direction of the image carrier and on the upstream of the opening 30, a foreign matter intruded via the opening 30 is intercepted by the damming member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
