PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of immediately starting image recording preventing image quality deterioration even if an object luminance just after power-on is higher than a predetermined value. SOLUTION: If an object luminance is higher than a predetermined value just after power-on, an ND filter is automatically inserted into an optical path (204, 407) regardless of whether an ND filter inserting/saving changeover switch means is operated and if the object luminance is lower than the predetermined value, the ND filter is automatically saved (406, 407).
