PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a service life more precisely in a lighting system having a service life discriminating function. SOLUTION: This lighting system is provided with a lighting circuit 1 for a lamp L, a lighting control circuit 2 for controlling the lighting circuit 1, a counter circuit 3 counting and storing a cumulative lighting time of the lamp L, a service life discrimination circuit 4 receiving a signal from the counter circuit 3 and switching control of the lighting circuit 1 or sending a service life discrimination signal when it reaches a preset prescribed service life discrimination time and a detection circuit 5 detecting a state of the lighting circuit 1 or the lighting control circuit 2.
