PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision object discrimination device with high discriminating performance with a pedestrian and an erected article fixed on the ground. SOLUTION: An upper bumper absorber 9 is connected to side members 6, 6 as supporting members through distortion type load sensors 1, 1, and a lower bumper absorber 10 is connected to the side members 6, 6 not through the distortion type load sensors 1, 1. Consequently, it is possible to discriminate the pedestrian and the erected article fixed on the ground in high precision as a detection load in the distortion type load sensors 1, 1 becomes larger at the time of collision of a human body large in a ratio of a load to the upper bumper absorber 9, a detection load by the distortion type load sensors 1, 1 becomes smaller at the time of collision of the erected article fixed on the ground large in the ratio of the load to the lower bumper absorber 10 and a difference of the detection loads of both of them becomes larger.
