PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump capable of suppressing pressure loss of fluid circulating between both side faces of a rotor to the minimum extent and keeping pressure balance on both side faces of the rotor while keeping a sufficient metal sealing function by reduced number of machining man-hour. SOLUTION: This vane pump is constituted by assembling the rotor 5 into a cam ring 4 assembled into a casing C, forming a plurality of vane channels 7 radially in the rotor, forming a back pressure introducing part 9 passing through in the direction of axial line of the rotor in a bottom part of the vane channel, and assembling a vane 8 into the vane channel slidably. Diameter of a hole in the back pressure introducing part is gradually increased from an opening 9a on one side in the back pressure introducing part on a side face on one side of the rotor on which relatively high pressure acts toward an opening 9b on the other side in the back pressure introducing part on a side face on the other side of the rotor on which relatively low pressure acts.
