PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical reagent capable of detecting easily an amino acid, a peptide and a protein with high sensitivity, by coloring resulting from a reaction with them, and a simple analytical method for concentrations of the amino acid, the peptide and the protein. SOLUTION: In this reagent containing cyclo-pentadienyl-rhodium complex and a coloring pigment, and for analyzing the amino acid, the peptide and/or the protein, the coloring pigment is an azo dye, and the azo dye contains an aromatic group which may be substituted with hydroxyl group, sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, and the reagent is a reagent for analyzing histidine, methionine or cysteine, or the peptide or the protein containing at least one kind of amino acid moiety out thereof.
