PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in test inspection, and to contribute to the improvement of safety in electrical appliances by achieving a coil withstand voltage tester that prevents switching noise from affecting the detection of corona discharge even if a switching element is switched when starting tests when testing coil withstand voltages and can generate high withstand test voltages. SOLUTION: The coil withstand voltage tester comprises a DC power supply 11 that has current capacity required for giving magnetic energy to a coil 15 to be tested and outputs voltage that is lower than a resonance voltage generated by the coil 15 to be tested; a switching element 12 that can arbitrarily conduct/break current allowed to flow from the DC power supply 11 to the coil 15 to be tested and is broken simultaneously with the start of testing; a circuit 16 for separating corona discharge waveform from high-voltage waveform generated from the coil 15 immediately after the switching element 12 breaks current; and a high-voltage dividing circuit 17 for converting a high voltage that is a resonance voltage to a low voltage.
