The light (10) comprises of at least one first connection (17) for a voltage supply channel (19a, 19b), especially to drive lighting (13) and consists of a second connection (18) for a signal channel (20a, 20b) to receive control information. The second connection has security (25) against overloading that is interchangeable or switchable. The light may have an associated operations apparatus (15) on which the first and/or second connections are located. The second connection may have two inputs (22a, 22b; 24a, 24b) for signal channels that are joined via an electronic component (26), particularly a varistor. Overloading of individual voltage between the two inputs may be determined from a large current stream through the security.
