<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress absorption of liquid reducing agent into particulates accumulated on an exhaust passage wall face, in an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine supplying the liquid reducing agent to an exhaust passage. <P>SOLUTION: A determining means (a step 102) for determining whether or not the particulates are accumulated on the exhaust passage wall face in supplying the liquid reducing agent to the exhaust passage, and an accumulated particulates removing means (a step 104) for removing the accumulated particulates when the accumulation of the particulates is determined by the determining means, are provided.
