PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light fixture wherein the lifetime of the apparatus can be estimated irrespective of the function whether or not a lamp is turned on. SOLUTION: There is provided a switch 21 which is turned on by receiving an external force when a fixture body 1 is installed. If the switch 21 is turned on, a timer circuit 23 is energized to count the time. When the time counted by the timer circuit 23 reaches a predetermined lifetime, a determination circuit 24 instructs a lighting circuit 3 to inhibit the lighting of the lamp 15. Thus, the time after the fixture body is installed in the field is counted by the timer circuit 23, and deterioration can be estimated as caused by the secular change of the structure material and the insulating material. Moreover, because the lifetime of the fixture is evaluated by the lapse of time from the installation regardless of the illumination hours of the lamp 15 and the operating hours of the lighting circuit 3, the lifetime of the fixture can be evaluated regardless of the frequency of use.
