PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a vehicle, supporting a vehicle's start on slope. SOLUTION: The braking device for a vehicle drives electric actuators 21, 23 according to the operation amount of a brake operating member, and presses friction material on a rotating element rotating with wheels to brake the vehicle. The braking device for the vehicle comprises a brake operation detecting means detecting the operation of the brake operating member, and a braking force keeping means keeping the braking force of the wheels at a predetermined value in case that the brake operation detecting means detects braking force keeping operation for keeping the braking force.
