<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image density and the color control output precision of an image forming device, by compensating the color sensor output, after detecting the image density or chromaticity on the recording medium, by using an inexpensive color sensor and comparing this detection with known density and chromaticity compensation chart of this recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A color image forming device form a color image by mixing at least cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), and black (K) colors. The color correction method for a color image forming device has an image density controller 117, which detects the reflection properties of the toner pattern fixed on a transfer material 11, by using an optical sensor 18 and controls the image forming conditions, and compares the toner image correction chart, including the reference patches with the toner pattern outputted on the transfer material at an arbitration timing, after the imagdensity controller 117 has controlled the image forming conditions, and corrects the image density control means 117, according to the comparison results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
