A fleece with chondrocytes grown as a cell culture can be attached to the front (14) of a device (10) in order to be inserted into a damaged cartilage. The device (10) is of a cylindrical shape (12) with a rectangular front area (20). The front surface (20) has rounded edges. Several openings (22) are distributed across the rectangle (20) and connected to a vacuum creating unit (24) in order to keep the fleece attached to the device (10) until it has reached its final destination. A fluid is guided towards the fleece through a second tube (22) assisting in the removal and positioning.
