摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a gas turbine engine 10 including a first compressor 14 and a second compressor 16 connected mutually in a form of series flow arrangement, a combustor 18, a turbine 22, and an intermediate cooling device 52 including a first heat exchanger 70 and a second heat exchanger 80 connected between the first compressor and the second compressor. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for letting pressurized air stream flow from the first compressor into the first heat exchanger, a step for extracting energy from the pressurized air stream using first working fluid 76 flowing through the first heat exchanger to reduce operating temperature of the pressurized air stream and raise operating temperature of the first working fluid and letting the first working fluid flow into a process heat exchanger 74, and a step for letting the pressurized air stream flow from the first heat exchanger into the second compressor.
