<p>An OSC unit 1(100) comprises separating means (13a, 13b) for separating a monitor signal from optical signals (11, 12) transmitted on an optical communication network, a connecting means connected to optical fibers (L1-L4) for transmitting the monitor signal separated by the separating means (13a, 13b), a detecting means for detecting direction information included in the monitor signal inputted through the optical fibers (L1-L4) connected through the connecting means and indicating the transmitting direction of optical signal, a judging means for judging whether connection of the optical fibers (L1-L4) with the connecting means is normal or not based on the direction information thus detected and preset inherent direction information, and a control means for stopping output of the optical signal to the optical communication network when the judging means judges that connection of the optical fibers (L1-L4) is abnormal.</p> |
