<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability to conversion performance between an optical signal and an electric signal. <P>SOLUTION: This optical transmitting and receiving module has an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 2 provided with a light emitting element and a light receiving element and a circuit board 3 provided with a circuit 24 for driving the light emitting element. The light receiving element has a characteristic that an output level of an electric signal with respect to optical signal light receiving strength fluctuates in accordance with an ambient temperature and a bias voltage. The circuit board 3 provided with the circuit 24 for driving a light emitting element is also provided with a bias circuit 15 for a light receiving element. Since in the circuit 24 for driving the light emitting element, the quantity of generated heat fluctuates in accordance with a temperature fluctuation in the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 2, the bias circuit 15 for a light receiving element is provided with a temperature detecting part 37 for detecting the quantity of the generated heat of the circuit 24 for driving the light emitting element as the ambient temperature information of the light receiving element and a bias temperature compensation circuit for performing the variable control of a bias voltage applied to the light receiving element on the basis of the detected temperature information of the temperature detecting part 37 in order to stabilize an output level of an electric signal with respect to the optical signal light receiving strength of the light receiving element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
