<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a performance decrease of an image forming apparatus to a minimum by shortening an HDD operation stopping time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 with a moving part (door 80) which has the possibility of artificially applying impact comprises a hard disk drive (HDD) 106 for performing either or both of data recording and data reproduction to a rotary recording medium, a sheet transfer route 75, a paper detector 76 which detects that a sheet stays for a predetermined time or more in the transfer route, a door detector 81 which detects whether or not the moving part is at a normal position, and a control part 100 which changes the HDD to a mode resistant to the impact when the paper detector switches from a state wherein it detects the stay of the sheet to a state wherein it does not detect the stay of the sheet, and which releases the mode resistant to the impact when the door detector detects that the moving part returns to the normal position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
