Method checks for data service tone signals containing preset frequency or frequency sequence. In positive instance signalling property information is generated. Then follows specified time conditioning of data service tone signals containing this frequency. Data service tone signals are coded in data packets for their network, dependent on signalling property information and/or signalling information. Data packets are transmitted to the network, under control of signalling information. An independent claim is included for a transition module converting signalling tone signals and useful tone signals.
