PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the problem of power consumption caused by the number of read/write accesses to an image memory and the problem of processing efficiency to realize real-time image processing of image data when reading/writing data from/to the image memory to execute prescribed image processing. SOLUTION: Prescribed image processing to image data is divided into horizontal-direction processing and a vertical-direction processing, and image data resulting from the horizontal-direction processing are written in an image memory area, and the processing result of horizontal-direction processing is read out from the image memory area and is subjected to the vertical-direction processing, whereby real-time processing is performed. One cycle of write access and read access for image data is performed for the image memory area with a plurality of pixels in a horizontal direction as a unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
