Laser protection device in shape of two-dimensional body (1) has a layer (10) made from an inflammable textile two-dimensional body as carrier. It has layer made of sheet material layer (20) positively attached on at least one side to the layer formed from an inflammable textile body. On the side facing outwards it has a metal or ceramic oxide coating applied using a thermal coating process. The device diffuses the laser light beam falling on it through coupling and then diffusely dispersing the light.
