An information system in which a central transmission device communicates data in addition to messages contains additional relevant information, which has a locational and/or user-specific relevance to the message and in which each communication device initially evaluates the additional information as to whether the messages for the respective communication device are relevant, and depending on this verification, processes the messages or passes them on. An independent claim is included for a method for transmitting messages to a number of communication devices.
