PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter conducting A/D or D/A conversion that controls the peak value of a signal by a feed-forward (predistortion) and capable of reducing distortions using quantization, and to provide a device that conducts transmission processings. SOLUTION: A quantization means 1 inputs a signal at multiple bits and changes the signal into one-bit quantization and outputs it. An arithmetic means 2 carries out an arithmetic operation, according to formulas 3, 4, 5 and 6 and determines the pulse width, pulse position, and pulse number of a pulse signal so that the peak value of a filter-response output reaches a prescribed value, while regarding the band width of a filter 4 as a known value. The pulse-wave generating means 3 inputs the pulse width, the pulse position, and the pulse number and generates and outputs the pulse signal from these pieces of information. The filter 4 shapes a waveform so as to control the peak value of the input pulse signal and outputs a signal where the peak value is controlled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
