REFLECTION PLATE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate coloring of a reflection plate by eliminating interference of light caused by periodicity of ruggedness.

SOLUTION: A photosensitive organic film 18 is applied to a substrate 11 and exposure, development and heat treatment of the organic film 18 are performed to form a first rugged shape 1 having a gentle waveform on the surface of the organic film 18. A second rugged shape 2 finer than the first rugged shape 1 is formed by dry etching on the surface of the organic film 18 on which the first rugged shape 1 is formed. A reflection film 19 having a shape reflecting the first and the second rugged shapes 1 and 2 is formed on the organic film 18. Since pitches of ruggedness and distributions of surface inclination angles of the first and the second rugged shapes 1 and 2 are greatly different from each other, the reflection film 19 has no periodicity of ruggedness. Thereby, interference of light caused by the periodicity of ruggedness is eliminated and the coloring of the reflection plate are eliminated. The diffusion paste of a polarizing plate used as a measure to improve coloring of a liquid crystal display is thereby eliminated.
