PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that dust is stuck to a filter to immediately lower a suction force in a vacuum cleaner separating the dust from suction air using centrifugal separation. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with an electric blower 1 generating suction air, a dust collecting means 2 provided in the upstream side of the electric blower 1 and collecting the dust, a dust collecting filter provided in the dust collecting means 2 and separating the dust from the suction air, and a static electricity generating means 3 provided in a suction air duct and generating the static electricity; drives the static electricity generating means 3 during the operation of the electric blower 1 and adsorbs the dust to the static electricity generating means 3 by the generated static electric force. This constitution can reduce the amount of dust stuck to the dust collecting filter and prevent the immediate lowering of the suction force. The static electricity can collect fine dust and adopt a filter constitution of a low pressure drop so as to increase the suction force. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
