The vehicle comprises at least one friction brake (10) that has a brake covering (16) that rubs during the brake process. There is an operating electrostatic field and/or magnetic field in the region of the friction brake. The electrostatic field and/or magnetic field may operate in the friction upper surface (16a) of the brake covering. The electrostatic field and/or magnetic field may be generated from the vehicle wheel~s associated wheel housing. The field generating vehicle component section (12, 14, 16, 20, 22) may have permanent magnetic material and may comprise a magnet coil.
