A pipe for gas or liquid has a screw thread at one end for the attachment of e.g. a fitting or extension. The thread interface is sealed by a collar wrapped on the thread, followed by presentation and application of the appropriate fitting. The collar is formed by threads of perfluroalkine(co)polymer fibers. The collar is a tape coated with a liquid perfluorized lubricant.
