PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an electrical type water leakage sensor that has high sensitivity, to prevent operations by a trace amount of liquid that is not water leakage and moreover, that is very easy to remove the liquid for recovery. SOLUTION: The water leakage sensor 10 comprises a linear core material 12, having electrical insulation and a pair of conductors 14, 16 wound into a spiral shape, individually along the surface 12a of the core material 12 and arranged separated from each other on the surface 12a. These conductors 14 and 16 each functions as an electrode of water leakage sensor 10 and being electrically insulated from each other on the surface 12a of the core material 12 at normal times (non-detection times). The water leakage sensor 10 senses the presence of liquid by the flow of current in the both conductors 14 and 16 via the liquid, when the liquid is interposed between both the conductors 14 and 16, and, when the conductors 14 and 16 are mutually electrically bridged.
