Disclosed is an optical member having a light diffusing layer wherein whitening phenomenon is hardly caused by an organic solvent. Specifically disclosed is an optical member comprising at least one light diffusing layer which contains organic polymer particles and is arranged on a transparent supporting body which is composed of a light-transmitting resin. The light diffusing layer is formed by applying a hydrophilic binder.
