<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument controller which enables the sharing of ID data of patients by a single input operation and an operation system using it. <P>SOLUTION: Unlike endoscopes 31 and 32 (100) and a medical instrument used therefor, a system controller 22 controls a plurality of medical instruments (15, 104, 105, etc. ) with an ID input means by which patients can input their IDs and compares the patients' IDs stored in a camera device 105 for the endoscopes and an image filing device 104, at least two higher in priority among the plurality of medical instruments to report the coincidence or incoincidence on a display panel 20 or the like.
