PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricating oil composition that is safe in terms of food hygiene and is suitable for a machine useful in food processing and an agricultural machine. SOLUTION: In the lubricating oil composition of food quality containing a polyglycerol fatty acid ester, the polyglycerol fatty acid ester is an ester of a mixed fatty acid that has≥75% by mass of the total of oleic acid and a 6-12C saturated fatty acid and the ratio of oleic acid/the 6-12C saturated fatty acid of≥0.14 and <3.30 and a polyglycerol.
