PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shake correction device having a lock mechanism and an optical instrument having the same. SOLUTION: The shake correction device 1 has a shake correction optical system L moving in a direction approximately perpendicular to the optical axis I; a coil 51 provided at the outside diameter of the shake correction optical system L, and having an annularly wound winding along a surface approximately perpendicular to the optical axis I; and a lock member 40 sandwiching the coil 51 along the direction of the optical axis I, rotated around the optical axis I with respect to the coil 51, and locking or releasing the shake correction optical system L according to the position thereof. The coil 51 includes a pair of straight lines 51a and 51b extended along the directions intersecting the magnetization direction of a magnetic body, respectively, and separated along the circumferential direction of the shake correction optical system L, and is disposed so that the intersection point X of the extension lines of the winding along the inner edge of the coil 51, in the pair of straight lines 51a and 51b, is positioned at the side opposite the coil 51 with respect to the optical axis I.
