PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively eliminate residual fundamental wave components in the case of extracting harmonic components in reception signals according to a PI (pulse inversion) method in an ultrasonic diagnostic device. SOLUTION: Two reception signals 100 and 102 in phase inverted relation are referred to and a correction coefficient is obtained from the contrast of fundamental wave components included in them. By the correction coefficient, the amplitude of the two reception signals 100 and 102 is corrected. The two reception signals 104 and 106 after the amplitude is corrected are added, the fundamental wave components are offset by the addition, and the harmonic components are extracted in one of them. The correction coefficient may be obtained on the basis of the two reception signals and the correction coefficient may be used for correcting the amplitude of transmission signals, or, the correction coefficient may be obtained by referring to two transmission signals and the amplitude of the two transmission signals may be corrected by using the correction coefficient.
