PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent miss-recognition caused by a position or a form of a game player by recognizing a posture of the game player at a high speed by a small hardware. SOLUTION: A game player 1 is photographed with a CCD camera 2, and a posture of the player 1 is recognized by a device 3 for recognizing postures. In the posture recognition device 3, a center position of a human body is recognized by a predetermined calculation conduct. Based on obtained information for a center position to keep a certain distance and direction to the recognized center position. And a size of the body form is recognized by a predetermined calculation. And according to the obtained information for the body form, a position and a size of the intensity detecting means allocated for recognizing the posture of the human body for recognizing the posture of the human body is positioned to satisfy a predetermined relation. Intensity detecting signals are obtained at every recognizing areas, a distance between the detected signals and a standard value of every postures is calculated at every areas, the detected signals for a minimum distance are recognized as the posture of the player. |
