摘要 An ion mobility spectrometer with parallel-running drift gas and ion carrier gas flow comprising at least one ionisation chamber (1), through which analyte-containing gas can flow, at least one radiation source (2), from which ionising radiation suitable for at least partially ionising the analyte-containing gas enters into the ionisation chamber (1), at least one transition region (3), into which the at least partially ionised gas as an ion carrier gas (4) and a virtually ion-free gas as a drift gas (5) can be introduced in such a way that, at least at the end of the transition region (3), a flow is established in which ion carrier gas (4) predominantly flows through cross-sectional regions (6) and drift gas (5) predominantly flows through other cross-sectional regions (7, 7'), at least one separating region (8) lying, in the flow direction, behind the transition region (8), in which separating region ion carrier gas (4) also predominantly flows through cross-sectional regions and drift gas (5) predominantly flows through other cross-sectional regions, whereby the drift gas (5) and the ion carrier gas (4) flow unidirectionally and the cross-sectional regions (6) through which ion carrier gas (4) predominantly flows are smaller at least in one dimension than the cross-sectional regions (7, 7') through which drift gas (5) predominantly flows.
