A pressing roller comprises a roller sleeve (1), mounted such as to rotate on a stationary support (2), fixed to support discs (4) and which may be displaced in the axial direction on the support (2). The roller sleeve (1) is placed under tension by means of a tensioning device (11,12), which engages with the support discs (4). The tensioning device (11,12) has pressure springs (11), supported on one side on a support disc (4) and on the support (2) on the other side and a pressure medium cylinder (12), which is supported on the other support disc (4) and the support (2). According to the invention, the tensioning of the roller sleeve (1) and adjustment thereof is carried out by means of a combination of pressure springs (11) and pressure medium cylinders (12), whereby the pressure medium cylinders (12) pretension the pressure springs (11) and simultaneously bring about the displacement of the roller sleeve (1). |
