PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain powerful video in a scene of large sound volume even with small-sized constitution by associating sound volume and a video size with each other. SOLUTION: The television device 100 equipped with a reception section 2, a video signal processing section 5, a CRT 6, a beam deflection section 7, an audio signal processing section 8, and a speaker 8 detects the level of an audio signal by a microcomputer 10 and varies the width of a pulse P sent from the microcomputer 10 to the video signal processing section 5 when the level of the audio signal is larger than a designated threshold to make the horizontal deflection width and vertical deflection width of an electron beam of the CRT 6 larger than a reference width. Consequently, video displayed on the screen of the CRT 6 is enlarged. Then the video is put back to its original size thereafter. Consequently, a viewer is impressed as if the screen comes closer to be given a three-dimensional powerful feeling in combination with sound effect of large sound volume. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
