<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing method, a focusing apparatus and an imaging apparatus capable of attaining the higher speed of a focusing processing. <P>SOLUTION: In a focusing method of acquiring focus information a plurality of times while moving a focus lens, and determining an in-focus position on the bases of the acquired focus information, prior to the processing of determining the in-focus position, whether the focus lens is to be moved toward the infinite end or the closest end is determined on the bases of the focus lens position (S401), the focus information is acquired while moving the focus lens in the decided direction at the prescribed speed (S402), the focus lens is stopped on the bases of the acquired focus information (S404 and S405), and the focus lens is started from the stop position in a direction reverse to the direction of driving the focus lens at the step of acquiring the focus information (S432 and S441). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
