<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus which has an ink jet print engine and enables overall good printing even when a solid area is present in an image. <P>SOLUTION: The image output apparatus comprises a printing mechanism by means of ink jet, and performs image printing. The apparatus includes a detection means which detects a high concentration area in which input image data is continuous.
