PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner improved in air supplying performance of a heat exchanging chamber. SOLUTION: In this outdoor unit for the air conditioner where the heat exchanging chamber 5 comprising a heat exchanger 3 and an air supply fan 4 is formed by mounting a partitioning plate 2 inside of a housing 1, and a bell-mouth 9 is mounted on a supply opening 8 of the heat exchanging chamber 5, a projecting portion 2a vertically extending, is formed near the bell-mouth of the partitioning plate 2 to deflect the air flow moving along the partitioning plate 2 to the bell-mouth 9. As the air flow in the heat exchanging chamber hardly enters into a clearance 11 formed between the bell-mouth 9 and the partitioning plate 2 in this constitution, vortex flow is not generated in the clearance 11, thus the noise can be reduced, and the air supplying performance of the heat exchanging chamber 5 can be improved.
