For the preparation of molded polymer components, before painting in an industrial paint shop, a water-soluble coating is applied after molding at least at the surfaces to be painted. The coating contains all the necessary washing and/or surface treatment chemicals and/or some or all of the chemicals required to activate the surface. The molding is washed before painting.
