PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorbing member for vehicle which is good in energy absorbing characteristics and capable of attaining weight and size reductions. SOLUTION: This vehicular energy absorbing member 10a for absorbing the energy of a load applied to a vehicle from the outside includes a tubular member 11 made of metal such as aluminum and a sheet-like member 12 formed out of fiber reinforced composite material such as CFRP. The sheet-like member 12 is bonded to an outer periphery surface 11a of the tubular member 11 on the cabin side through an adhesive layer 13.
