RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR PNEUMATIC TIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a pneumatic tire wherein the processability at a practical level is retained and the balance among the gripping performance, fuel efficiency and driving stability on a wet road surface is greatly improved.

SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by compounding silica and a silane coupling agent with 100 pts.wt. rubber component and further compounding 5-30 pts.wt. at least partially vulcanized diene rubber powder with an average particle size of≤10μm. The diene rubber powder is preferably a functional group-containing rubber powder, and the silane coupling agent is preferably one represented by formula (1): (CnH2n+1O)3Si-CmH2m-S-CO-CkH2k+1(wherein n is an integer of 1-3; m is an integer of 1-5; and k is an integer of 5-9).
