PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the unauthorized copying and other problems of a memory card in a user portable terminal of an electronic travel guide. SOLUTION: A body ID 21, a card ID 31 and a data ID 152 are embedded in the user portable terminal 20 of an electronic travel guide, the memory card 30 and electronic travel guide data 150 on the memory card 30, respectively, at the time of manufacturing or the like. A body authentication key 112 and a card authentication key 154 created by a certificate authority are embedded in a memory 110 of the user portable terminal 20 and the memory card 30, respectively. A body authentication part 124 and a card authentication part 130 of a CPU 100 of the user portable terminal 20 use the body ID 21, card ID 31, data ID 152 and the like to create a body reference key and a card reference key in the same procedure as the certificate authority has created the authentication keys, and compare them for authentication with the body authentication key 112 and card authentication key 154.
