PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and device capable of processing into desired image characteristics such as faithful reproduction of gradations of a source image, and a multi-video display system. SOLUTION: When a video signal from a video output means 1 is processed, the video processing means 1 is made to output a test image prior to output of the video signal to be processed, and the test image is processed in a non-correction state to obtain a non-correction processed test image; and the non-correction processed test image is compared with a desired characteristic image to calculate input characteristic parameters for processing the video signal from the video output means 1 into desired characteristics, and then the video signal from the video output means 1 is corrected and processed according to the input characteristic parameters.
