PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet feeding device capable of preventing failure due to occurrence of double feeding error of an original or the like without providing a special structural means when a job is performed. SOLUTION: When the original 36 attached with an RFID tag 37 is set to an ADF, and a paper detection sensor 20 is turned ON (ST1) by delivering the original, feeding starts (ST2) for reading the original, and the RFID tag of the original 36 is magnetically read out (ST4, ST5) with an RFID reader 19 after the original is detected (ST3) by the paper detection sensor 20. The paper sheet feeding device determines (ST6) whether or not there is another ID, namely, there are a plurality of IDs. When there are the plurality of IDs, it is determined that the original 36 is double fed, and "the original is being double fed" is displayed (ST11) on a display part 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
