PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for withdrawing a silver-containing liquid when necessary or periodically from a photographic processing solution to be used in a photographic processing plant, separating silver-based waste from the silver-containing liquid and returning the silver-based waste-separated cleaned liquid to the original photographic processing solution. SOLUTION: An apparatus for separating silver-based waste is provided with: an outer cylinder being one electrode; an intermediate cylinder which is extended downward lower than the outer cylinder, has a baffle plate and is the other electrode; a cylindrical filter arranged inside the intermediate cylinder; and a waste storage part positioned below the outer cylinder. An electrically charging route is arranged between the outer cylinder and the intermediate cylinder and communicated with the waste storage part.
