Device for separating coarse ash from a flue gas stream

An arrangement for the separation of coarse ash from flue gas has a sieve in a flue gas channel leading to a denitrification catalyst, the sieve (A) extending over the entire channel cross-section; (B) having a number of gas apertures each with a cross-section less than that of the coarse particles; and either (C) being arranged in a widened section of the flue gas channel in which catalyst is integrated; or (D) being formed as a slotted screen filter whose apertures are bounded by parallel triangular-cross-sectioned bars enclosed by transverse bolts to give a rigid module, the apertures having a widening cross-section from the inflow to outflow side.
