Continuous ridges or runners extend between the nose (6) and the rear end of the ski (7) along the length of its running surface. These are fastened into or onto the sole (5). The ridges (9) project out of the plane of the sole. In one example, the ridges are formed by grooves in the sole, into which bridging sections are inserted. The ridges are metal, ceramic or glass, or are coated with these substances, and are optionally divided into segments. Other features noted, include varied ridge widths, replaceability and dovetailed fitting.
|
